(...) For the past year Rachel has steadily been building a body of work around the subject of clouds. When we look at clouds, and I mean really look at clouds, we slowly drift away with them, away from ourselves, away from time perhaps, into a moment of nothingness, which is at the same time uplifting and a bit melancholy. There is both lightness and darkness in these greyish paintings: a pleasant dreaminess as well as a sense of grief, which both are themes she deals with poetically.
